Property Damage Liability

What is it?

When you are found legally responsible for an incident, Property Damage Liability coverage pays for costs associated with damage to other people’s vehicles or property. This coverage has a single “limit”, which is the maximum amount we will pay per covered incident.

Do I need it?

Yes. Property Damage Liability coverage is required by most states.

What is NOT covered?

Costs associated with damages to your own vehicle or property due to an incident you cause

Example Scenario

Tom rear-ended Susan. Susan's vehicle has moderate damage to the rear bumper. Tom's property damage coverage pays for the damage to Susan's vehicle, up to the limit on his policy.
