Ridesharing

Clearcover considers ridesharing the transportation of a person or people from one point to another using an application or platform provided by a transportation network company, such as Uber or Lyft. Clearcover does not consider the delivery of food or other products for a fee as ridesharing. Our ridesharing endorsement does not cover these types of services. A shared-expense carpool would not fall under ridesharing activity, and generally would be covered on the Clearcover auto policy. Volunteering to drive another person or group for an event, such as a church outing or something similar, would generally be covered as long as there was no fee. We understand ridesharing is relatively new and can be a bit confusing, so if you have questions about your specific situation, please reach out and we’ll gladly help.
