Derek Brigham is the Co-founder, President and COO of Clearcover and brings more than 25 years of insurance experience across corporate finance, underwriting, reinsurance and product management. Prior to co-founding Clearcover, Derek worked for six years at American Family Mutual Insurance Company in corporate finance, business development and underwriting leadership roles. Derek led the integration of American Family’s first acquisition, Lumbermen’s Casualty Company, and formed the operations team responsible for developing staff underwriting procedures, claims, compliance, and internal control processes for programs underwritten by Lumbermen’s, which is now called Midvale Indemnity Company.

Prior to joining American Family, Derek worked at CUNA Mutual Group for 25 years in product management, marketing, and operations roles. While at CUNA Mutual, he launched and managed CUNA Mutual’s program division, developing specialty products for the MGA market that included lender placed property, loan default and programs for volunteer fire departments and private ambulance companies. Derek also led CUNA Mutual’s launch of a web-based affiliate distribution platform for auto and homeowner’s insurance through credit union web and mobile lending applications.
